Job Role and Responsibility
· You will work across the R&D organization to help our Cloud Delivered Service teams create well architected cloud native solutions based on major public cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
· You will be a key contributor to the Cloud Core Governance Council, the body that proposes, reviews and adopts governance standards across VMware.
· You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective implementation of many of the governance standards adopted by the council
· You will participate in production-readiness reviews of Cloud Delivered services.
· You will help disseminate knowledge through blogs, tech-talks and best-practices documentation.
· You will develop prototypes, reference frameworks, designs and reference implementations that demonstrate best practices in action.
Required Skills
· You will have a professional level certification with one or more leading public cloud vendors, preferably Amazon Web Services (AWS).
· You will understand DevOps and can build a deployment pipeline utilizing common CI/CD tools.
· You will be very comfortable working with containers and Kubernetes.
· You will be passionate for elegant and efficient products and solutions.
· You will be an excellent communicator, both written and oral.
· You will be comfortable presenting in front of large and influential audiences
· Demonstrable coding skills and experience in at least one programming language.
· 5+ years of experience working in a related discipline IT solutions architecture, application migration, cloud architecture consulting.
Preferred Skills
· Experience building and working with HTTP REST interfaces.
· Experience organizing or contributing to open source projects
