Job Description

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

The Practice Manager role is focussed on the following activities:

  • Reviewing statement of work with sales and PMO
  • Driving enablement and certification for the team - 100% basic certification
  • Resource management (Skills Tracking, Resource Scheduling, Holiday Tracking, backup planning)
  • Liaison between Solutions Sales Managers, Engagement Mangers, Project Managers, Practice Managers, Consultants and Operations to facilitate PSO business.
  • Executive customer connect
  • Technical escalation handling

These activities are specific elements within the overall job of supporting the consulting management team.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

Role Specific Technical Skills:

  • Project management
  • Practice development
  • People management
  • Resource analysis
  • Technical understanding of SDDC portfolio
  • Understanding of datacenter concepts
  • Understanding of private/public cloud solution
  • Understanding of virtualization solution
  • Thought leadership, white paper writing


Previous Experience:

  • Worked in a similar role
  • Exposure to multiple projects either independent or as part of a programme
  • People Management
  • Technical experience


Education:

  • Bachelor/Masters Degree


Accountabilities:

The Practice manager is accountable for the following:

  • Practice leadership and development
  • Team certification
  • Coaching and grooming solution architects
  • Partner with sales and PMO to create effective statements of work
  • Troubleshoot in complex situations with delivery and PMO teams

  • Has a strong project management office background
  • Has the ability to collaborate with other peers and stakeholders effectively
  • Is able to manage their time effectively within the 90 day business cycle
  • Has the ability to travel (nationally & internationally) when required
