Role Overview: We are seeking a talented and experienced Partner Marketing Senior Manager to join our team. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for building and managing our partner marketing programs, fostering strong relationships with key partners, and driving joint marketing initiatives. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, channel management, and marketing, to develop and execute effective partner marketing strategies that align with our business objectives.

Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

  • The primary objectives of this position is to build and manage our partner marketing programs, foster strong relationships with key partners, and drive joint marketing activities.

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

  • Travel up to 60% of the time meeting with press and analysts and for internal and events/meetings.
  • You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, channel management, and marketing, to develop and execute effective partner marketing strategies that align with our business objectives.


  • Responsibilities include:

Partner Marketing Strategy:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive partner marketing strategy aligned with the company's overall marketing and business goals.
  • Collaborate with channel management and sales teams to identify target partner segments, market opportunities, and joint marketing objectives.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, best practices, and areas for partner marketing improvement.

Partner Enablement and Engagement:

  • Build strong relationships with key partners, understanding their business objectives and aligning marketing strategies to drive mutual success.
  • Develop partner marketing programs, campaigns, and assets to enable partners to effectively market and sell our products and solutions.
  • Provide guidance and support to partners on joint marketing initiatives, ensuring consistent messaging, branding, and execution.

Joint Marketing Initiatives:

  • Collaborate with partners to plan and execute joint marketing campaigns, events, webinars, and other demand generation activities.
  • Develop compelling co-marketing programs and collateral that highlight the value proposition of our joint solutions.
  • Measure and analyze the effectiveness of joint marketing activities, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Marketing Asset Development:

  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop partner-specific marketing assets, including presentations, case studies, white papers, and web content.
  • Ensure the availability of up-to-date and relevant partner marketing materials that support the partner enablement and demand generation efforts.

Performance Tracking and Reporting:

  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of partner marketing programs and initiatives.
  • Provide regular reporting on partner marketing performance, including lead generation, pipeline contribution, and revenue impact.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing operations to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of partner-driven opportunities.

For US based candidates, the annual pay range (OTE for commissioned roles; Salary for other roles) for this position is: $96,000 - $229,000. The actual offer will be based on the role, location, and individual candidate experience. Bonus, commission, and/or equity may be eligible for this position. VMware offers comprehensive benefits including, but not limited to: medical, dental, and vision plans, company paid holidays, paid sick leave, and vacation time.
