Working with VMware SEBU/SASE team, you will be engaging in cutting edge technology to build and implement SASE products and platforms. You will also be involved in automating, problem solving, troubleshooting of SASE full stack encompassing infrastructure, platform, enterprise management tooling, along with various aspects of the SASE architecture

Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

  • You will be responsible for automating, building, and maintaining customer services for SASE.
  • Within 30 days of employment, you will become competent with VMware SASE's deployment and high-level design.
  • You will work closely with Engineering, TPM, Product Management, Support and other SREs to provide day-to-day operations for the SASE service portfolio.
  • Within 90 days of employment, you will be helping to automate areas for our team. Fixing issues and starting to be involved with code reviews for the team
  • Within 365 days, you should provide a general high-level overview in your learning and ownership.

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

  • Working on CI/CD pipeline construction, evolution, and management.
  • Document best practices and pipeline operation for engineering teams.
  • Identifying Opportunities to improve efficiency of our CI/CD pipeline and optimize developer productivity.
  • Developing tools and code to automate manual steps in the pipeline and optimize existing steps.
  • Using tools such as GitLab, Jenkins,, Docker, Terraform, Ansible, Python

The hiring manager for this role is Paul Beetlestone. Paul is a Sr Manager DevOps Engineering leading a diverse team across the globe within the SEBU SASE division. He has been with VMware for 6+ months. He believes that a team is at its strongest when it works together towards common goals. He feels that his job as a manager should be to help make his engineers succeed, grow, and learn.

Because of this the team follows a dynamic, open, transparent culture and encourages to learn from each other, teach others and grow along with others being collaborative and courteous.

Where is this role located?

This team is spread across multiple countries, this role we are looking for someone in Costa Rica. This role can be fully remote or a hybrid role at our office in Costa Rica. This role allows you the flexibility to work from the location you feel most productive and comfortable.
