Job Role and Responsibilities:

Analyst Relations is a corporate strategy discipline in which corporations interact with industry analysts/research analysts who work for independent research and consulting firms such as Gartner, IDC, Forester, etc. The goal is to help educate industry analysts on VMware solutions, and together help shape the IT market.

VMware offers the Analyst Relations and Market Intelligence Co-Op an opportunity to be part of an exciting and strategic team. As a Co-Op within the communications team, you will focus on maximizing the value of our influencer relationships through our spokespeople, customers, and metrics. You may support multiple organizations within communications and will receive a well-rounded, global communications experience. Depending on the critical priorities relevant at the time and your skills and interests, your role could include the following activities:

Project Management

Project management support and participation in customer references, metrics projects, platform management and analyst relations programs. This could include building schedules and managing deliverables from various teams for executive presentations, marketing campaigns, analyst reports and whitepapers, and communications intranet tools. This requires attention to detail, analytical skills, and intrapersonal skills (qualitative and quantitative).

Data Visualization

Analyze and identify industry analyst trends and creation of visual dashboards showcasing analyst relations interactions for c-level consumption. Working across teams to collaborate and integrate with others across the company using data visualization tools (Tableau) as well as with our client services team(s) externally.

Customer Relationship

Continue development of customer relationship program grooming customers for positive input in Gartner Peer Insights. Work cross-functionally with BU and Customer Reference team to identify, nurture, and target customers to grow our footprint and achieve top 5 position in core and emerging markets.

Strategy

Strategy input for emerging solutions, including industry analyst inquiry, briefings, and strategy sessions. Influencing go-to-market and product road map plans and informing customer and influencer-facing presentations.

Required Skills:

Currently pursuing a degree in Analytics/Data Visualization, Marketing, Communications, or related field

Previous co-op experience

Proven success working and adapting in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities

Strong analytical, project management and problem-solving skills

Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills

Self-starter, team player, information seeker, takes ownership

Demonstrated success in project management and creative thinking

Preferred Skills:

Ability working with cross-functional teams

Experience with data visualization tools (such as Tableau or others)

Fascination with information technology and its use in business

Technical knowledge or knowledge of VMware products
