Channel Sales Support Intern

The Channel Sales Support Intern will support the Americas Partner Business Management Team managing and developing marketing and sales initiatives through strategic Partners. The intern will be responsible for supporting sales and marketing activities by building stronger relationships both internally and externally. Our goal is to drive value based Partner activity in order to generate transactional business through strategic Partners.

Our sales cycle ensures that our Partners derive mutual value from the VMware customer reference program. The Intern will be part of a dynamic Channel team & will perform a vital function in ensuring the ongoing success of VMware. The role will be varied and cross-functional, encompassing internal communications, reporting, channel strategic initiatives and the management of the Americas Channel dashboard.


  • Partnering with the existing Channel PBM Sales team to assist in reporting and forecast processes
  • Managing Channel data dashboard and analytics
  • Supporting three strategic initiatives in Americas, management of actions, and executive scorecard


  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Analytics, or any related field
  • Knowledge of the IT Marketing (reselling Software is a preference)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office package
    Intermediate MS Excel skills required (pivot tables preferred)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must work well and collaborate with several different functions (e.g. sales, marketing, operations, etc.)


  • Proficient in MS Office: Excel, PowerPoint, & Word. Aptitude in pivot tables & Tableau are a plus

The Partner sales team is aligned to the sales organization and is responsible for managing and growing our partner ecosystem. The Partner Business Manager (PBM) shares responsibility in driving revenue goals within the territory. VMware has many types of partners: OEMs, VARs, Distributors, National Resellers, and Technology Partners etc. The PBM works to map VMware’s sales executives to the partner’s accounts in order to accelerate and drive the sales process. The PBM will work with the assigned partner to enable the partner by facilitating and providing training, developing joint go to market strategies and creating marketing plans and events.
