Job Description

Specific Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and deploy analytical models and techniques within the organization and VCA clients.
  • Work with large volumes of data, extract and manipulate large datasets using standard tools.
  • Analyze, clean, and visualize large data sets.
  • Produce data sets for predictive modeling by parsing and aggregating incomplete, unstructured data sources.
  • Develop and validate advanced analytics models and algorithms.
  • Utilize Visa’s data and analytic capabilities to develop and implement consulting solutions.
  • Continuously present innovative ideas to improve business practices.
  • Perform client-specific analysis on portfolio data including proprietary information.
  • Lead transfer of technical knowledge to facilitate business solution implementation.
  • Document all projects, including coding and other necessary documentation.
  • Enhance and optimize codes for critical business processes.
  • Design and develop dashboards using software such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Identify opportunities to automate repeatable analysis or build streamlined solutions.
  • Communicate complex concepts and analysis results clearly and effectively.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, or relevant quantitative domains OR equivalent practical experience with demonstrated proficiency
  • 4+ years of work experience in data querying languages (e.g. SQL, Hive), scripting languages (e.g. Python, Spark), workflow tools (e.g. Git, Airflow, Artifactory), CI / CD tools (Git, Jenkins) and deployment tools (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform)
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in data science projects using standard / custom Python packages (e.g. scikit-learn, tensorflow, pytorch) and open-source models (pre-trained NLP such as BERT, GPT or stable diffusion models) 
  • 4+ years of leading data science projects from end-to-end i.e. understanding the business context and translating them in problem statements addressable with data, understanding data ecosystems to pull data from disaparate sources, hypotheses design and testing using data and statistical frameworks, grasp of descriptive and diagnostic analytics, ability to creatively translate findings into predictive / prescriptive models, understanding consumer behaviors, and communicating actionable insights to data science and non-technical teams.
  • Experience writing production-standard code that is maintainable, scalable, and adheres to test-driven development.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with wide range of stakeholders from consulting, data science, data engineering, and product to influence decisions / outcomes.
  • Ability to think critically about existing gaps in the data science pipeline and offerings to proactively experiment/build PoCs and surface prioritized set of solutions to improve
