Operations Manager

Virta is an online specialty medical clinic that reverses type 2 diabetes safely and sustainably without the risks, costs, or side effects of medications or surgery. Our innovations in nutritional biochemistry, data science and digital tools combined with our clinical  expertise are shifting the diabetes treatment paradigm from management to reversal. Our mission: reverse type 2 diabetes in 100 million people by 2025.

Virta is now available to nearly 100% of the U.S population, and we are expanding our capabilities to bring our groundbreaking online type 2 diabetes reversal clinic directly to patients. As Virta’s Operations Manager, you will work with the clinical and business operations team to increase our capacity to serve patients.  You will help lead our on-going excellence in care, working with the physician and coach teams to develop and scale clinical protocols.  You will play a key role in improving patient satisfaction and care; including iterating on how Virta will most easily integrate with other providers and plans.  A successful person in this role will love to work cross functionally to solve operational problems and put together systematic, scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Build Operational efficiency and scale
    • Work with commercial team to understand demand signal
    • Understand (and own) capacity and efficiency metrics for clinician team
    • Implement operational solutions to increase efficiency
    • Partner with product team to implement technology solutions around efficiency
    • Build systems to scale clinical team
  • Develop Healthcare system integration
    • Iterate on/Improving on how Virta integrates with the HC System
    • Develop/Own clinical vendor relationships (labs, ECG, etc)
  • Improve Patient Experience
    • Follow up on patient satisfaction survey to understand patient experience
    • Create/implement systematized solutions to patient experience issues
    • Develop strategy around what world class patient experience would like
    • Implement strategy
  • Physician group non-clinical management
    • Work with Physician group on operational scalability
    • Own the execution process of protocol updates and roll out

90 Day Plan

Within your first 90 days at Virta, we expect you will do the following:

  • Work with the commercial team to understand patient growth plan.  Understand supply bottlenecks and build a plan around alleviating capacity constraints.
  • Identify key areas of opportunity to improve efficiency in processes where Virta is interfacing with other parts of the healthcare system.
  • Based on patient interviews, develop prioritized list of changes for Virta Clinic
    • Execute on quick wins to improve patient experience
  • Create a process with clinical team to iterate, create and rollout protocols

Neha leads engineering efforts around Virta’s patient-facing mobile and web applications. She facilitates cross-company communication, supports engineering productivity, and assists in the development of Virta’s technical and product roadmaps.
