VICE x Team
VICE's European design hub is based out of the London office and is the creative heart of the business, providing a multi faceted design service to the different lines of business within the company. The Design Hub is made up of an Art Director and a mix of Graphic Designers and motion designers who are responsible for creating innovative design solutions for VICE socials, VICE.COM, brand marketing campaigns, graphics packages for new VICE shows and creative for a variety of events. We are a sociable group of multi-disciplinary creatives with a passion to create amazing work that we are proud of.
Role x You
As our Senior Designer on our socials and website, you are a self starter and versatile in your skillset. You are keen to get stuck into a multitude of projects with a passion and understanding of the impact the work we create has on the wider world and you will have a strong interest in news and what is going on in the world.
In the short term…You will be producing content for VICE’s website and social accounts and ensuring standards are exceptional across the platforms. Your strong art direction capabilities will be embedded as a key feature of the work you create here and you will be regularly coming up with new social formats for our channels. You will have ownership of digital campaigns; lead and execute design projects from conception to delivery while taking responsibility to ensure projects are delivered on time and true to the brief while maintaining brand consistency throughout all projects.
After 6 months in this role... you will have established good working relationships by collaborating with others in the business such as writers, animators, illustrators, designers, and other creatives and you will have proposed multiple new social formats for the channels.
After a year…you will have established yourself as a key creative figure in the business after having delivered groundbreaking innovative visual work which will have helped VICE deepen the loyalty and fandom amongst its audience. In addition to this, you will always be looking for new ways to push yourself and the brand forward by inventing new design led editorial formats.
You have these:
- Previous experience in a design role in a media or agency environment
- A diverse art production skill set, with experience across art direction, typography and layout, motion graphics, illustration, infographic design, digital and user experience design.
- An expert understanding of branding, advertising, typography, design and layout
- A vast experience and passion for all kinds of design and creativity, with specific demonstrable experience across multi platform projects
- Flawless knowledge and ability of the Adobe Creative Suite, especially photoshop, illustrator and After Effects
We’d love if you also had these:
- Working knowledge of Cinema 4D and Premiere Pro
- A passion for the VICE brand, it’s mission and tone of voice
- Ability to speak a second language would be considered a bonus
