VICE APAC is seeking a stellar Group Account Director, Client Services to oversee key business relationships and programs in North Asia for VICE+VIRTUE. This role leads, plans and manages the activity of client accounts, and adds vision and momentum to business which spans across North Asian markets, with focus on Japan, Korea and China.

This role leads, plans and manages the activity of client accounts, and adds vision and momentum to business which spans across North Asian markets, with focus on Japan, Korea and China.

As part of the leadership team, the GAD will be responsible for reporting back on metrics, strategies and issues as we continually grow and optimize our service efforts across the business in North Asia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be an inspirational leader, fostering strong client relationships, creating best in class work with impeccable delivery
  • Development of revenue opportunities across designated client lists, including existing key accounts
  • Extracting and responding to a high volume briefs and RFP’s in collaboration with the strategy and creative teams across the APAC region
  • Running pitches and bringing in new business - new business is vital to our growth.
  • However the pipeline is overflowing so this is more about qualification and managing the mprocess
  • Project scoping - overseeing the development of project proposals, legal scopes of work and contracts with Account Directors and VICE legal team
  • Superb knowledge on 360 communications, both from a planning and implementation perspective
  • Financial acumen. Managing agency finances - ensuring profitability and North Asia targets are met, and reporting across the business
  • Implementing the new and updated VICE+VIRTUE procedures and processes to ensure the team follows correct finance and project management processes and workflows
  • Working with wider teams to share best practice and relevant insight to assist in the continual growth & evolution of the VICE+VIRTUE business in North Asia
  • Liaising with VICE communications on PR and press releases to develop the agency’s industry media presence and profile

Qualities and Experience

  • Ideally 10+ years’ client service experience in an agency account role (min 3+ years in a creative agency)
  • Beauty category experience and significant knowledge of market landscape (global > local)
  • Entrepreneurialism - happy within a start-up environment, going the extra mile or stepping out of your lane wherever needed, and comfortable trialling new ways of working which enable us to adapt to different project requirements or deliver never-been-done work
  • Excellent knowledge of production processes and realities, to shape projects and deliver in the most efficient way, including an eagle eye on budgets.
  • A master at managing multiple stakeholders, growing client relationships and fostering team development
  • A project converter and growth creator - you should be commercially astute and always looking at how to grow the business, with proven success securing new business, and driving organic growth with existing clients. Having formed strong relationships within those organisations, selling VIRTUE and the wider VICE offering to our current roster of brands and contacts should come naturally.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills in both Japanese & English
