General Assignment Reporter, VICE News

Overview:

VICE News is looking for a general assignment reporter to join our digital newsroom. The position will require the candidate to cover a wide range of subjects, with the goal of developing a few main beats as the job evolves. We're looking for a reporter who is thorough, obsessive, and aggressive, and who has a proven history of scoops or differentiated coverage.

Ideal candidates should have an interest in multimedia and alternative story formats, and should be excited to contribute to larger projects, including data-driven stories, FOIA reporting, and narrative features. This is a visual newsroom, so this position requires close collaboration with our video teams and our HBO shows.  

 

Qualifications:

  • Strong experience as a reporter, preferably covering a beat at a large media organization
  • Proven record of scoops or differentiated coverage
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Familiarity with social media is a plus
