Verb Surgical - A Google and Johnson & Johnson joint venture

Developing time-critical SW for the next generation of surgical robots. Deploying real-time SW modules and drivers in traditional as well as MPSoC environments. Identifying, designing and implementing new software features for Verb's state-of-the-art robotic system. Testing your code with hardware, troubleshooting bugs, and implementing feature enhancements within the existing infrastructure. To help create the future of surgery, we are building a best-in-class team and are looking for a C++ software engineer.

Individuals should have demonstrated experience with early stage product development, real-time communication, and experience with complex systems with cross-functional integration. Ideal candidates will include those who have designed and implemented real-time control software for a surgical technology platform, communication interfaces, user input device interfaces, safety mechanisms, configuration loaders, and logging and reporting infrastructures. The role will include working closely with corporate partners, Verb employees, consultants and vendors.

Experiences and Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent (MS or PhD preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience architecting complex robotics or capital equipment software infrastructure
  • Strong C++ skills
  • Experience with
    • C++ STL
    • Linux or RTOS
    • Multi-core, hard real-time, high availability systems
    • Source code control and formal code review processes
  • A passion to change the future of surgery
