District Manager (NY Metro Area)

FUNCTIONResponsible for managing all aspects of an assigned district of Vera Bradley retail stores including but not limited to: sales, merchandising, operations, customer service and staff management in accordance with company objectives and standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Note: Other duties may be assigned)

  • Manage and maximize district sales and customer experience objectives
  • Ensure manager adherence to established company policies, procedures, and all Human Resource related issues
  • Hire, train and recruit store management
  • Assist in corporate training, developing curriculum and training schedules
  • Participate in new store opening process with in assigned district
  • Coach, counsel, and develop members of store management
  • Collaborates with corporate marketing to drive localized marketing initiatives
  • Communicate, execute and follow up on all retail directives, marketing/visual and promotional initiatives
  • Assist in the development of sales targets for assigned district
  • Participate in all special events and promotions/projects
  • Achieve store goals for payroll, loss prevention, conversion, UPT and ADS within the district
  • Manage store schedules to ensure proper staffing
  • Organize and lead weekly store management meetings to ensure profitability of the district
  • Collaborates with cross functional teams to achieve store level business process improvement
  • Collaborate with Visual Merchandising to execute merchandise and visual strategies, to achieve brand objectives
  • Maintain store compliance operation records and process reports

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School Graduate or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Retail Management or related field preferred
  • Prior retail experience strongly preferred
  • 5+ years management experience required; or proven ability as a Vera Bradley store manager required
  • Speciality retail sales experience preferred
  • Multi-unit management experience preferred

  • Constant walking and standing; frequent bending, stooping and reaching
  • Strong sensory skills such as good eyesight, good hearing, and dexterity
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 35 lbs
  • Travel up to 75% of the time and work a flexible schedule
  • Valid driver’s license with good motor vehicle record. Must be 21 years of age and must carry company mandated liability limits.
