Co-Director

FUNCTION

As the Co-Director, you will be responsible for assisting the Store Director on all aspects of Flagship store including but not limited to: sales, events, merchandising, operations, customer service and human resources activities in accordance with company objectives and standards.

  • Assist Store Director in managing and maximizing Flagship sales
  • Develop Vera Bradley loyalty by creating an outstanding experience for both associates and customers
  • Ensure adherence to established company policies, procedures, and all Human Resource related issues
  • Recruit, hire, train, motivate a team of qualified associates to build a bench for future advancements that communicate and represent the Vera Bradley philosophy
  • Assist Store Director in the maintenance of the payroll budget and manage controllable expenses to maximize profitability
  • Lead the team with exceptional sales and strong presence while on the floor and communicating the Vera Bradley brand aesthetic, philosophy and lifestyle to the sales associates and customers
  • Partner to coach, counsel, and develop members of Flagship store team
  • Support Store Director in recommending, creating, and implementing special events and promotions/projects
  • Assist Store Director to achieve store goals for payroll, sales, conversion, UPT and ADS
  • Collaborate with Store Director to ensure proper staffing utilizing store traffic data
  • Support Store Director onweekly store management meetings to ensure profitability of Flagship store
  • Collaborate with Visual Merchandising to execute merchandise and visual strategies, to achieve Flagship store objectives
  • Oversee daily, weekly, monthly processes to ensure operational integrity
  • Monitor inventory and partner with merchant team to achieve ideal balance of top selling items in physical store location to maximize sales opportunity
  • Provide a clean, organized and inviting environment for both customers and associates
  • Manage all human resource related tasks including recruiting, onboarding and I-9 compliance, performance management, payroll and scheduling, health and safety, and store security
  • Assume total store leadership in absence of Store Manager and partner in the strategic planning of short and long term goals
  • Maintain a leadership role in the community

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School Graduate or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Retail Management or related field preferred
  • Prior retail experience strongly required
  • 2+ years retail management experience required; or proven ability as a Vera Bradley store manager required
  • Speciality retail sales experience preferred
  • Multi-store management preferred

  • Constant walking and standing; frequent bending, stooping and reaching
  • Strong sensory skills such as good eyesight, good hearing, and dexterity
  • Ability to consistently lift 10-35 lbs; Occasionally lift up to 55 lbs with the ability to push or pull more than 55 lbs
  • Valid driver's license with good motor vehicle record, must be 21 years of age (only applies to locations with company-owned vehicles)
  • Must be able to work with strong fragrances and scents in the form of eau de toilette, burning candles, bath and shower gel, body lotion, hand cream and bar soap throughout the work day.
