Provide operational support to Design Manager in the creation and execution of the product line. Responsible for researching trends, communicating with a cross functional team and assisting the Design Manager with product development and presentation of product line.

•Create and maintain accurate product Line List to be used by a cross-functional teams in determining product assortment

•Collaborate with the Design Manager in order to design and develop products that are on brand, in keeping with the company’s mission statement, and meet margin requirements
•Collaborate with Design Manager to create and maintain accurate technical specifications for each product (tech packs)
•Review development samples and communicate to both internal and external parties regarding changes from original specification in keeping with the deadlines for each season
•Participate in the research of seasonal fabric, hardware and silhouette trends and create presentation boards and reports for each category
•Set up for line meetings and presentations to both internal and external customers
•Preparation and communication to sourcing and distribution of development packs for fabric, trim and products
•Preparation of calendars for new products and colors (fabrics) and manage deadlines for each delivery
•Responsible for sample management including tracking and recording of outgoing and incoming samples, communication with vendors , and organizing all development and photo samples
•Work with SGS to test material and components during the product development stage, prior to production, as well as collaborate with Quality to assess testing needs for new materials, components and products
•Preparation of worksheets to monitor testing, photosamples, style analysis, and key calendar dates to ensure on time approvals for each category
•Recording and filing of new fabric and component references ordered at fabric shows
•Assist in the analysis of sales data and forecasts for current and new introductions with Design Manager and Merchandise Management
•Shop the market on a regular basis for product inspiration and to gain competitive knowledge
•Understand and seek to further knowledge of the production process as it relates to a specific category
•Set up for line meetings and presentations to both internal and external customers
•Participate in evaluation of all product line concepts along with other product development team members
•Maintain the look of current samples in the PD conference room
•Ship references, samples and documents to vendors
•Assist in day to day projects including filing, organizing or photo copying

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
•High school graduate required. Bachelor’s degree in apparel merchandising, textile design, or related field preferred.
•Experience in related field preferred. Understand of the development of fashion accessories or handbags from concept to production preferred.
•Experience with FlexPLM preferred.

•A good eye for color, detail and functionality of product
•Strong PC skills utilizing Microsoft Office software
•Advanced user of Illustrator Required. Knowledge of Rhino a plus
