Job Summary

As Director, Security Engineering (DevSecOps), you are a highly motivated and experienced technical leader of cross-functional Security Points of Contact (SPOCs) in Veeva products to integrate security capabilities into continuous release planning and execution for all Veeva products. We frequently work with other teams at Veeva, and look externally to partner with unique and innovative security companies.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for building and maintaining a secure development lifecycle, with continuous improvement to meet evolving security and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate with product teams to develop security as code, and integrate security by design principles into engineering builds.
  • Develop runbooks with security operations, train Engineering to perform threat modeling, and train developers and SQA staff on secure coding practices.
  • Provide summary and dashboard reports of the state of the secure development lifecycle in Veeva products, and coordinate with product teams and management on the resolution of issues.
Requirements
  • A bachelor’s in computer science (or equivalent) degree or military experience.
  • 7 years of experience with Information Security and security engineering.
  • 4 years of experience in delivery and DevOps.
  • Prior demonstrated technical leadership and management in cross-functional security role with 3-5 years’ minimum of people-management experience.
  • Proven track record developing, implementing and integrating security tools and technologies and process integrations in cloud-based architectures.
  • Prior experience working with application/product development teams on design and implementation of best-practices for security as code.
  • Knowledge of various Security Development Lifecycle approaches is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in comparative technology reviews and analysis.
  • Understanding strategic business objectives and the ability to drive results towards those objectives.
  • Proven ability to work within a team environment and develop strong security engineering Leaders.
  • Prior experience project-managing security control implementations.
Nice to Have
  • Prior experience in a technology company working closely with product and DevOps engineers on security requirements.
  • Experience with DevOps environments and AWS security controls a strong plus.
  • Familiarity and experience with standards and compliance frameworks including ISO, SANS, OWASP, NIST, SSAE SOC, ITIL, etc.
  • Excellent written visualization and verbal communication skills.
