SIPP Operations & Oversight Manager

The UKPI business is looking to enhance its platform by adding a SIPP alongside it's ISA and GA business. The operational oversight team within European operations requires a SIPP oversight manager to manage the day to day operations of the Vanguard SIPP, but also the existing team of 4 crew members. This role will be a member of the European operations management team and work collaboratively within the management team across the wider European operations initiatives.

Key duties:
Management Lead for the SIPP Operations and Oversight TeamOutcomes - Manages the daily oversight and operation of the Vanguard SIPP
Responsible for daily control of the Vanguard SIPP
Responsible for daily management of SIPP operational and oversight Crew
Ensure SIPP operation remains aligned to wider platform
Works with proposition leads to help shape operational change for customer experience enhancements.
Continues to keep the core platform and SIPP compliant
Responsible for crew appraisals and reviews
Responsible to work across work streams to ensure operational and oversight deliverables are aligned and achievable to meet business goals
Participates within the European management team to help drive improvement and works towards strategic objectives
Responsible for setting and maintaining SIPP strategic plans

Regulatory obligations
Responsible for SIPP remains operationally compliant
Responsible for supporting the regulatory change for the SIPP
Responsible for representing Vanguard externally at industry forums, working committees to improve the SIPP operations
Responsible for building out operational regulatory impacts for Senior stakeholders and the potential propositional impacts

Business obligations
Works closely with the business to identify change
Utilises customer feedback to prioritise operational enhancements
Utilises position within the industry to help identify strategic operational changes required
Takes a platform balanced view on prioritising change and how this integrates within the other products
Ensures regulatory change and compliance are implemented within deadlines and continues to monitor

Professional qualifications

Level 3 - Certificate in Financial Services - Chartered Insurance Institute (CII)
Or Level 3 - Investment Operations Certificate (IOC) - Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI)
Or Level 3 - Certificate in Pensions Administration - Pensions Management Institute (PMI)

Key skills / experience

Minimum of 5 years experience working within a SIPP operation Minimum of 3 years team management experience Experience working within the administration function in an adviser firm & platform Technically strong to help deliver operational change Demonstrate experience and understanding of the governance framework required to operate a SIPP within a retail platform Proven record of managing an operation or oversight team Proven record of implementing and maintaining a control framework for SIPPs or pension business Proven record of working across industry groups Proven record of implementing regulatory change within the operation Proven record of working across multiple stakeholders Proven track record of working with an outsourced provider
