Take responsibility for Vanguard's regulatory policy positions affecting investors, our business and industry. Use your relationship-building and interpersonal skills to advance Vanguard's public policy agenda with policymakers, legislators and regulators, as appropriate. Lead the analysis of proposed regulatory actions and determine the potential impact on the organization. Maintain strong working relationships with key governmental entities, professional and industry trade associations, and internal stakeholders. Advocate for Vanguard's policy positions, interests, and the health of the enterprise and its industry. Represent the organization in matters before the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and other regulatory, legislative, or industry standards agencies. Coordinate the development of legislative and regulatory strategies to advocate public policy goals and to and influence trade association agendas and action plans. Manage the effective and timely communication of policy developments affecting various businesses and other stakeholders.

What it Takes
- Minimum 8 years public policy professional experience in the financial services industry
- Excellent undergraduate and law school (J.D.) or graduate degree (M.P.P.) academic credentials
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior management and impact decision-making
- Demonstrated track record of providing business-focused solutions that combine excellent judgment, creativity, risk-taking, and technical expertise
- Shares Vanguard's values, including unmatched ethical standards, teamwork, client service, work ethic and positive attitude
