The Key Accounts Sales Executive will be responsible for developing new relationships and maintaining / broadening existing relationships with advisor firms at the home office level within Canada.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Creates and implements strategies to expand distribution opportunities that will maximize Vanguard's exposure for each intermediary advisor firm at the home office level within Canada.
- Develops, maintains and broadens home office intermediary relationship through regular and constant contact with business leading analysts, investment committees, due diligence professionals, marketing, sales desks and business gatekeepers and thoroughly understands the philosophy and dynamics of the advisor/organization (investment philosophy, client base, product preference, keys goals and challenges, etc) and acts as a trusted advisor/consultant in matching need with Vanguard products and services. Educates advisors on the benefits of Vanguard and our product offerings.
- Grows distribution of Vanguard's investment products and related services and delivers key Vanguard messages through targeted prospecting activities including but not limited to: cold calling, direct mail campaigns, face-to-face meetings, client seminars, formal presentations, and attendance at client and industry conferences.
- Works with established home office contacts to engage clients' advisors about investment platforms. Proactively develops opportunities to raise awareness of Vanguard ETF presence on client platforms. Conducts one-to-many workshops, seminars, breakout sessions and educational meetings with top producing advisors and/or clients' internal wholesaling forces. Supports regional and national client conferences.
- Develops a high level of business acumen and expertise related to the capital markets, the investment management industry and marketplace developments. Utilizes this experience, along with product knowledge to be a trusted advisor to client and prospective clients, and positions Vanguard products and services effectively.
- Achieves sales and sales activity goals within the spirit of Vanguard's Code of Ethics.
- Works in team environment with field sales executives and other internal business partners. Educates Vanguard field sales executives on client platforms, including platform descriptions, client operating systems to access platforms, and goals and objectives of clients for platforms
- Collects and disseminates information back to Vanguard product teams for evaluation. Owns responsibility for reporting sales activities and other key business data.
- Interacts closely with Sales Managers regarding broad channel and client issues.
- Leads/participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience required. Advanced degree (MBA) and professional designations (i.e. CIMA, CFP, CFA) preferred.
- Minimum of five years institutional or national account sales experience interacting with senior level contacts at broad, complex and diverse organizations.
- Strong business acumen and executive sales presence including the ability to influence decision-makers at all levels.
- Deep technical aptitude within current industry with the ability to develop deep investment knowledge and expertise of the capital markets, investment management industry and related trends.
- Professional characteristics reflecting curiosity, empathy, and enthusiasm coupled with a solution-based drive to meet highly accountable results.
- Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding predetermined key objectives.

- Strong team based selling and partnering skills.

- Ability and willingness to travel a minimum of 60% required.
