At Vanguard, we grow by doing the right thing for the people we serve. And so can you. As our Head of Digital Marketing, you will be an integral partner in developing and implementing the digital marketing strategy.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develops the digital marketing vision and strategy, collaborating with the Global digital team to drive the overall global strategy and ensure alignment for the region. Establishes technology, infrastructure and processes needed to deliver a great customer experience across all business channels. Responsible for developing a digital ecosystem 'blueprint' for regions and analysis of technology gaps within advertising, measurement and personalization space.
  • Drives ongoing and annual planning to ensure resource and budget optimization and the successfully alignment, planning, prioritization, and delivery of Vanguard's strategic digital initiatives. Develops multi-year department plan to modernize the digital function including digital marketing, social media, new technologies, web and data analytics.
  • Manage team members, creating a strong collaborative team atmosphere. Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and provide guidance, training and motivation as necessary to develop staff. Hire, evaluate and counsel personnel. Follow corporate performance management procedures per established Vanguard standards as required. Set performance standards, review performance, provide feedback, and recommend salary increases in accordance with all applicable Human Resource policies and procedures.
  • Develops and coordinates partnerships across technology, finance, marketing, operations and business stakeholder groups.
  • Collaborates with the Marketing and business leads to design and develop innovative digital programs that elevate and advance our digital brand presence and support business growth. Works with these groups to ensure the best customer journey is delivered.
  • Manages all digital activity for an international region including website, email, social, advertising, SEO, PPC and usability. Develops strategic digital marketing plans. Owns the end-to-end email strategy, including data.
  • Takes full responsibility for the performance and financial health of digital programs and projects - develops an optimization strategy for all digital channels (e.g. advertising, paid/organic search and social media), analyzing results and adjusting accordingly.
  • Plays a key role in all digital projects, with hands on execution of campaigns and business as usual activity, including management of the budget.
  • Actively participates in cross-business initiatives, shares digital knowledge and encourages cross functional digital thinking.
  • Leads a digital team for an international region.
  • Manages relationships with external digital agencies.


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years' digital experience - ideally with a combination of both B2B and B2C environments.
  • Exemplary track-record of driving multiple strategic digital programs to market, generating buy-in from senior stakeholders
  • Extremely effective at organizing, planning and delivering activities across a complex and fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrable experience across all broad digital channels and able to demonstrate knowledge of latest advances within the digital marketing sector.
  • Articulate and driven, has strong negotiation skills, enjoys managing people and working alongside a broad range of peers.
  • Experience in managing budgets and people management.
  • Deep expertise and confidence when discussing digital, with an excellent track record of making things happen.
  • Ability to lead, support and motivate both internal and externally and to see the bigger strategic picture and implications.
  • Passionate about digital and staying on top of the latest opportunities in digital with a questioning mind that pushes the boundaries.
  • Highly collaborative with strong impact and influence skills.
