The Retail Development Manager defines and implements BMW NA’s retail performance management strategy. Responsibilities include: identify and prioritize business opportunities via performance diagnostics, mystery shopping, dealer market reviews, and other performance improvement processes; develop and implement qualitative improvements throughout the dealer network; initiate operational actions to improve results via performance consulting; monitor achievement and recognize superior performance in the dealer network via recognition programs. 

The incumbent is responsible for defining the appropriate performance metrics in conjunction with Sales, Aftersales, and Customer Orientation business stakeholders in BMW and MINI, developing tools and consulting programs that drive the improvement of these performance metrics, and providing upper management with Key Performance Indicators reporting on the health of the dealer network. The Retail Development Manager must work collaboratively with the 4 regional offices to identify and prioritize dealers with performance improvement needs to achieve the desired results. In addition, this position is responsible to lead all dealer related recognition programs. 

The incumbent must have experience and a track record in driving transformational change as well as the ability to lead a diverse team. Additionally this position must have a financial and commercial understanding of the automotive Dealer business and must be solution driven to overcoming obstacles. He / she must have the ability to engage other departments in seeking solutions to complicated problems, driving performance improvement and driving cross functional collaboration between divergent groups. Lastly, the incumbent must have the ability to sustain a credible rapport with key stakeholders within the BMW NA organization as well as with our colleagues at BMW AG.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Requirements: 
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience 
• 5 - 7 years’ experience in process development and work with Dealer and Field organization 
• Prior Leadership experience is a must 
• Prior Area Manager experience is high valued 
• Customer focused 
• Succeeds in a fast paced environment 
 • 40% overnight travel expected
