Department Purpose

The Strategic Research & Insights Department supports the development of key company strategic priorities - and ongoing business processes - through proprietary research studies, secondary research review, insight generation and competitive intelligence analysis. Additionally, the team supports new product and business opportunities based on market research and insights.

Job Purpose

The Sr Analyst position will be an integral member of the Strategic Research & Insights team, assisting with strategic insights execution, project management and the analysis/reporting of findings including:

  • Collaborating with consumer, content, brand, data and B2B sales teams to understand their business needs and key objectives
  • Managing processes for brand trackers, segmentation analysis, competitive analysis and TAM insights to inform internal stakeholders and drive business decisions
  • Communicating/socializing findings throughout the organization
Duties and Responsibilities

Specific job responsibilities include:

• Develop audience insights from analysis and interpretation of primary & secondary research to identify key opportunities and recommendations to drive consumer and overall company strategies and goals
  • Evaluate audience/customer sizing & trends (TAM/SAM), industry/competitive landscapes, new technologies and other opportunities to identify strategic moves
  • Work collaboratively with the primary research team to develop research studies, key insights and recommendations
  • Develop business cases and uncover key sales, content, subscription and revenue opportunities
  • Prepare PowerPoint reports for findings/insights/recommendations
  • Work collaboratively with extended Data Intelligence team to incorporate research insights with other forms of internal data.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications include:

• Bachelor's degree with emphasis in business or marketing disciplines

• 7+ years of experience working in research, analysis, strategic planning or marketing, in a corporate environment; work in media or marketing services industry a plus

• Knowledge of media and market research methods/tools and data sources

• Ability to synthesize and communicate highly complex data and key findings

• Familiarity with distilling research findings from primary and secondary (both qualitative & quantitative) data

• Excellent analytical and interpretative skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - both written and oral in a precise, compelling and persuasive manner

• Excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple projects

• Experience with Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint or Teams

• Experience with survey research tools such as Qualtrics, Survey Monkey, etc.

• Experience with research and analytical tools such as Scarborough, MRI, comScore, Claritas, Google Analytics, Facebook Analytics or similar

• Experience with first party databases and segmentation
