Reporter, Southern Indiana

The Courier-Journal, an award-winning news organization and part of the USA TODAY NETWORK, is seeking a talented, take-charge reporter to cover communities in Southern Indiana, focusing more specifically on Clark and Floyd counties.

This reporter will develop sense-of-place stories, keeping in touch with city officials and neighborhood activists in Southern Indiana and writing about trends and developments that matter to residents. The reporter will also keep tabs on business openings and closings and will work closely with the growth and development reporter.

This reporter should have experience writing in-depth enterprise stories and would be expected to engage with readers through social media, digital chats, videos and events.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • At least 2 years of applicable experience as a reporter/writer
  • Ability to shoot photos and videos with an iPhone
  • Proficiency on social media platforms
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
