The Deming Headlight is looking for a reporter to join its award-winning team. This reporter will work in tandem with the editor to cover Deming, Luna County and southwest New Mexico. The ideal applicant can write for a digital audience, be proficient on social media, take photos and effectively cover myriad events and beats. This reporting job provides a lot of opportunity for growth and will best serve a candidate who doesn't like to be stuck at a desk.

The Deming Headlight, a USA TODAY NETWORK paper, is a twice-weekly print publication updated online daily. Deming is situated in a border county with a strong agricultural identity, is close to state parks and home to the annual Great American Duck Race. Reporters with an interest in covering immigration and border issues are strongly encouraged to apply.
