The Journal & Courier in Lafayette, Indiana, part of Gannett, Inc. and the USA TODAY NETWORK seeks a driven, experienced leader for its newsroom to fulfill the position of Content Coach. This will be the top manager on site at the newspaper, overseeing a staff eight.
Applicants must have 3-5 years professional experience, preferably with managerial experience.
Applicants must be versed in managing breaking news, enterprise news, features, sports and visuals.
Daily copy editing and print edition planning will be part of this role, in addition to longer term development with reporters.
This position works daily to target our news coverage toward specific desired audiences.
In addition to Lafayette, West Lafayette and Tippecanoe County as a whole, Purdue University is a focus of J&C coverage. The J&C is a digital-first news operation, focused on delivering a top-notch news service online and on social media, growing its overall digital audience and volume of digital subscribers while also growing its daily engagement for already paying customers.
