USA Today Network - Delmarva is seeking a news reporter focusing on Ocean City, Maryland.
Watchdog and enterprise journalism drive this beat. Your breaking news and in-depth coverage will find
a wide regional and national audience. Daily stories and reporter video are expected since we are a small newsroom.
You'll have advanced analytics tools to shape your reporting to what resonates with the community.
Additional training is available to all staffers through The Poynter Institute.
This job is based in our Bethany Beach, Delaware, office, located 15 miles north of Ocean City, and
works in coordination with our Salisbury, Maryland, office.
Ocean City, Maryland, features 10 miles of free beach and a 3-mile boardwalk. The resort town is
Maryland's second largest municipality during the busy summer months, with 8 million visitors annually.
Day-trippers can visit Washington, D.C., Baltimore and Philadelphia.
Candidates must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record, proof of insurance and their own transportation what you need:
- Bachelors' degree in Journalism, Communication or similar.
- Reporting, with investigative or enterprise experience, at a newspaper, student newspaper or equivalent media.
- Ability to produce accurate and detailed content in competitive environment.
