The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle is looking for an energetic and driven Suburban Trends reporter to add to its award-winning staff.

The Suburban Trends beat is one of the top initiatives in our newsroom as we look to connect our journalism with our audiences. Key topics include public safety, education, development and capturing the talk of the town.

The ideal candidate will have at least three years of journalism experience and be able to tell stories on multiple platforms, with an emphasis on mobile. Video skills are a must but so is the ability to write well and develop unique enterprise stories.

Rochester, NY, is a great place to work and live. It's located in the Finger Lakes region of New York state and is a community known for its arts, culture and generosity. Located on the shore of Lake Ontario, there are ample opportunities to outdoors activities, including boating, fishing, hiking, swimming and camping. Yes, it snows here, but that provides the opportunity to ski (sometimes even in May) and our springs, summers and falls each have their own personalities.
