News Assistant (Temporary - Part-time)

The Arizona Republic is seeking a research and data news assistant to build a database of contacts across a variety of industries and government entities supporting a special project.

This position is part-time and temporary with a flexible ending date.

The ideal candidate will research requirements include internet searches as well as making phone calls supporting the team. The news assistant will need to be self-directed and must be comfortable with

little direct supervision, although daily check-ins and progress reports will be expected. A familiarity with political groups and border issues is a plus.
