Material Handler/Packaging

The Gannett Publishing Services location at The Tennessean has an opening for Material Handlers in our Packaging Dept.

The job purpose is to perform material handling duties in the Distribution Center. The starting hourly rate of pay for this position is $9.00

Job Duties:

Feed and deliver assorted printed materials and/or jackets into automated inserting machines.

Stack down printed material from both the printing presses and inserting machines to prepare pallets.

Account for prepared bundles of material making them ready for the transportation department.

Clean the work area to keep it safe and ready for the next shift.

Education, Experience and Skill Set:

High school diploma or equivalent. Previous material handling experience in an industrial environment preferred.

Ability to multitask in a fast paced manufacturing setting, while observing machine performance standards and deadlines
