Gannett Publishing Services, located at The Desert Sun, is recruiting for part-time Inserters. This is an entry level position performing post press related packaging tasks.
The Inserter is responsible for loading product into the inserting machine; stacking down product from press or inserter to build skids that can be machine inserted or shipped out; and basic material handling functions. The job environment is deadline-oriented work in a manufacturing environment. Day/afternoon positions, four to five work shifts per week including weekends. Also, evening/night position available: five work shifts per week 3.5 to 5 hours per shift including weekends. (You could work 20-25 hours a week on average)
- Perform general material handling duties including working on post-press equipment.
- Perform general housekeeping and safety maintenance including positioning pallets, post office equipment and other equipment as needed.
GED/High School diploma. Good verbal communication skills required. Proven ability to be a self-starter a plus. Must be able to repetitively lift newspaper bundles weighing up to 20 pounds. Prior production or related experience preferred.
