Based at our Sterling Heights Operations Facility, the Industrial Electrician is responsible for repairing and maintaining automated equipment used in printing of newspapers.

Equipment such as AGV's, Hilo's, printing presses, ASRS systems, and equipment specific to the newspaper production.

Qualified candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in an automated industrial environment.

Candidates should have knowledge or familiarity with the following:

PLCs, such as Allen Bradley, Telemecanique, or Omron.

Networks, such as Ethernet, DeviceNet, Interbus, Profibus or Can Bus.

AC/DC motors and controls including AC synchronous motors, stepper motors, various VFDs and encoders.

Strong troubleshooting skills using electrical schematics and test equipment, experience with European style diagrams a plus.

Knowledge or understanding of three phase building power and lighting circuits.

Must be comfortable with working voltages up to and including 480VAC and 600VDC.

Familiarity with installations and construction practices following the National Electrical Code also a plus.

Additional requirements:

Knowledge of lock out/tag out procedures

Safe Electrical work practices

Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Ability to work off ladders and climb stairs.

Able to stand on ones feet for long periods of time.
