The primary role of the Distribution Manager is the effective management of home delivery,single copy and transportation departments. This position oversees all distribution employees, contracted haulers and carriers. This position is in charge of recruiting, hiring, training, motivating and managing all employees and managing contractual agreements with independent contractors.

This position has direct oversight of all day-to-day operations including the transportation and distribution of all print products including the daily newspaper, TMC products and non daily publications. This also includes managing the single copy draw and monitoring rack pilferage and the dealer aging.

This position is also responsible for budgeting, tracking and monitoring expenses as they relate to circulation operations. Responsibilities also include improving

efficiencies to lower expenses and increase the profitability of the circulation department. This position is expected to conduct regular audits of product, route delivery times, subsidies and TMC distribution.
