The Direct Marketing Specialist is responsible for creating, executing and managing subscriber acquisition campaigns to reach sales objectives that drive subscription volume and revenue across the USA TODAY NETWORK. The successful candidate will lead the collaborative efforts to develop, implement and continually improve acquisition direct marketing campaigns across traditional marketing channels, including direct mail, email and free standing inserts. This position works to optimize acquisition direct marketing campaigns, leveraging a disciplined approach based on multi-variate test strategies. The work of the Direct Marketing Specialist contributes to each local sites' success in achieving subscription volume goals and revenue.

The Direct Marketing Specialist must have knowledge of direct marketing tactics and trends of assigned direct marketing channels, good written and verbal communication skills, strong project management and problem solving abilities. He/she must be able to juggle multiple priorities and stakeholders at warp speed with a keen eye and attention to detail in a deadline driven environment.

A bachelor's degree and at least two years of direct marketing, including multi-variate testing, with specific experience in direct mail and/or email is required. Proven project management experience, the ability to work independently is essential to success.
