Do you like being part of the biggest news of the day and week? Can you find sources no one else can and tell exclusive stories that go beyond news releases and news conferences? Do you report and write quick, and have a knack for visualizing data and producing strong, digital content? TCPalm and Treasure Coast Newspapers is looking for a motivated journalist who can multitask, pivot on news when needed and cover topics differently than other media. The ideal candidate will embrace the need for multiple, quick-hit stories one day and spend other time digging into issues that most impact the communities we serve. This reporter must be able to analyze information and produce thought-provoking and engaging content on all platforms, but especially on digital. This person also must have a desire to represent the diversity of our audience and create sources in underserved communities.
The position is based in Port St. Lucie, but will regularly cover topics important to readers in Indian River, St. Lucie and Martin counties. A journalism degree or equivalent experience is required. Being bilingual and proficient in databases, digital producing and digital charting and mapping programs are pluses.
