This reporter will be responsible for ongoing coverage of the mayor's office, city council and city agencies, as a watchdog constantly reporting with the interests of Detroit citizens in mind. While the job does require daily reporting and coverage of ongoing city issues, this reporter will also team with other reporters on ongoing enterprise and investigative reporting. This is a high-output, high-impact beat. As with any reporter in these times, extensive posting for the web, a professional presence on social media and work in audio will be required. Applicants with substantial prior investigative reporting or government coverage experience will have a leg up in the vetting process.
