Gannett is looking for a highly motivated Associate Account Manager to join our fast-growing company and bring a positive attitude and a curiosity to learn to the account management team. The Associate Account Manager is responsible for working with other members of the Account Management team to make our clients happy. This will include: building out client reporting and insights, developing campaign strategy and ad targeting, and supporting our clients through the day to day client interactions with the Account Management team.

• Learn and apply knowledge on print products, rates and opportunities by partnering with sales to respond to client requests for circulation / availability / rates, etc., executing on insertion orders and booking ads in system

• Successfully manage and support your account base and new business as the day to day contact for your print accounts

• Build positive business relationships with your account base through proactive support, on-site visits, and client education / training

• Provide high level of customer service to clients with effective communication, timely responses to requests and proactive resolution of potential issues on print advertising

• Provide print tear sheets for all print advertising runs

• In partnership with Account Manager / Senior Account Manager, assist in the following areas for digital media:

o Digital reporting, screenshots and info gathering (benchmark metrics, etc.)

o Pulling inventory / avails for digital media

o Assist with completion of online ad specifications on client templates

o Adpoint order entry for digital proposals / orders

o Development of standard digital media plan proposals

o Review campaign performance and make recommendations to ensure success


• Experience with Excel with strong analytical skills: must have a demonstrated track record of excellence in analytics, either via past work experience and / or successful completion of analytic coursework

• Strong leadership, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills

• Organizational skills with a focus on quality assurance and process improvement

• A team player, willing and able to collaborate with a diverse and dynamic team

• Ability to work under pressure, organize and prioritize responsibilities and client requests

• Professional maturity, integrity, discipline and a positive attitude

• Demonstrated ability to think outside the box and take initiative to solve problems as they arise

• Interest in media, technologies, and a desire to keep informed of new trends


• BA / BS degree or equivalent practical experience

• One to two years of full-time work experience, preferably one year of account management experience, relevant internship(s) and / or successful completion of a Digital Media degree

• Proficient in Microsoft Office

• CRM / Order Management / Workflow system experience a plus
