Delivering quality care starts with ensuring our processes and documentation standards are being met and kept at the highest level possible. This means working behind the scenes ensuring a member-centric approach to care. As a senior clinical quality data analyst, you will monitor and support behavioral health quality improvement initiatives with particular emphasis on compliance with Medicaid regulations, state mandates and customer contract requirements. You will act as a voice for our members, guiding the development of data-driven quality projects and monitoring processes.

We're looking for a self-motivated healthcare professional with quality improvement (QI) and/or data analysis experience. In this position, you would analyze essential data to develop and implement QI initiatives. Join the quality team focused on improving the health of our members, enhancing our operational effectiveness and ensuring Salt Lake and Tooele County Medicaid recipients receive quality behavior services on their path of recovery. It takes passion, commitment, intense focus and the ability to contribute effectively in a highly collaborative team environment in all departments.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and support quality improvement activities and performance improvement plans by:
- Gathering and analyzing data
- Preparing written reports for internal teams and customers
- Presenting analyses and working collaboratively across teams
- Explain the characteristics of the data/information (e.g. clinical, administrative) including any unique attributes
- Conduct and manage outcomes of various studies that may include analyzing, reviewing, forecasting, trending and presenting information for quality management planning and management needs.
- Review results, conduct analyses (e.g. evaluate against goals/effectiveness of interventions over time), and prepare reports on findings
- Act as liaison between the Quality and Reporting Teams by:
- Requested reports which target identified needs
- Identify appropriate data platforms or applications (e.g. data bases, intranet source, internet source) and utilize these to collect data or information
- Assuming responsibility for data integrity among various internal groups and/or between internal and external sources
- Provide explanations or updates when data/information are not accurate or are unclear
- Collaborate with Quality Team to perform barrier analyses and to develop measurable interventions
- Evaluate current processes, compare to relevant standards or specifications and identify gaps in compliance or performance
- Develop an understanding of our customers' requirements and expectations to anticipate needs and identify possible actions
- Mine data and/or information to identify inconsistencies, trends, other information needed, etc. (e.g. develop and/or run data queries)
- Participating in designing, creating, implementing and managing quality improvement projects and initiatives in support of behavioral health measures (i.e. HEDIS follow-up after hospitalization, network adequacy monitoring, performance improvement plan targets)
- Follow regulations and internal or external protocols for communicating information or data
- Project management of Quality related initiatives

Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience developing and implementing performance improvement projects or using data to develop intervention strategies to improve outcomes
- 2+ years of experience collecting, analyzing and presenting data
- 2+ years of experience in managed care, including Medicaid
- Experience managing projects, including multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge and experience with national quality improvement standards
- Proven intermediate to advanced excel skills
- Proven presentation skills (present reports to leaders/colleagues, solo and as a team)
- Demonstrated ability to organize groups and work independently
- Access to high-speed Internet services along with space for home office setup
Preferred Qualifications:
- Clinical behavioral health license (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, CMHC, etc.), or RN with psychiatric treatment experience
- CQA (Certified Quality Auditor)
- Six Sigma, IHI or other Quality Certification
- Experience creating reports related to quality improvement/performance outcomes
- Experience working within an Optum or UHG behavioral health team
- Familiarity with Tableau and NetSmart products

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $71,200 to $127,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
