The Revenue Cycle Analytics Transformation Lead is responsible for supporting the analytics team in the initial engagement of new client implementations. This position will be responsible for engaging with both internal and external stakeholders related to the development and validation of performance measurements for new clients. The qualified candidate for this position is a naturally curious, self-motivated and a problem solver. The position is responsible for providing analysis and data compilation on business needs. The position is responsible for developing clear documentation and action plans to create metric definitions, calculations, and reporting. This is an analytical role with the primary focus of providing transformation support for new client implementations in analytics, managing contract metric requirements and interim operational reporting needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge in all areas of revenue cycle operations which includes:
    • Patient access (scheduling, pre-registration, insurance verification, financial counseling)
    • Registration/Admission (ED, inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory)
    • Health Information Management (transcription, coding, clinical documentation improvement)
    • Patient financial services (charge capture, pre-billing, billing, follow-up, cash posting, account resolution)
    • Decision support and analytics
    • Productivity and quality management
  • Understand key revenue cycle metrics and performance indicators and provide reporting of operational and financial performance
  • Provides technical direction, guidance and assistance during project development and accomplish all required formal signoffs
  • Able to communicate effectively (written and verbal) findings and root cause analysis to support operation and financial decisions
  • Gather data from Patient Accounting Systems to support performance measurement baselining and trending to assist with the development of service level targeting
  • Complete Ad-hoc data request on an as needed to basis to support new client engagement initiative across all pillars of an engagement
  • Develop and support interim service level performance reporting for new client engagements
  • Complete requirement documentation for all service level performance metrics
  • Understand and represent Optum Business Intelligence and services and how they will improve partner operations
  • Assist team leaders with special projects and priority analysis assignments
  • Effective at working at both a data detail level and a strategic thinking level
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Project responsibilities may include:
    • Analyzing large data sets and identifying and interpreting patterns and trends in the data
    • Managing multiple client-related priorities concurrently and addressing issues accordingly
    • Communicating project status regularly with manager

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years in a revenue cycle healthcare setting
  • 5+ years of analyzing data to identify trends and issues
  • 3+ years using SQL query techniques to access relational databases with the ability to write efficient queries
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Cerner software experience
  • Proven solid analytical and organizational skills
  • Proven high degree of self-motivation, versatility, and flexibility
  • Proven ability to work in a fast paced and deadline driven environment
  • Proven excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Proven teamwork and collaboration. Consultative and collaborative style with demonstrated ability with cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain solid internal relationships as well as motivate and inspire other team members through solid consultative skills
  • Demonstrated solid ability to build partnerships and influence others. Proven ability to work across team, group, and business boundaries to drive commonality and reusability in solution to real-world problems
  • Demonstrated solid relationship management skills and ability to handle challenging interpersonal situations

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
