Payer Digital practice's mission is to partner with Health Plan leaders to accelerate their vision of core operating model transformation. We work with client organizations to design data-driven, digital enablement blueprints for transforming core administrative operations and design solutions that meet our their financial, operational, and performance improvement goals. Leveraging in-house products in conjunction with relevant solutions in the market, in collaboration with clients and strategic industry alliances, we help design and deliver scaled industry solutions.

As a Payer Digital Engagement Manager, you will help clients set up, manage, and operate their most complex programs, assess and implement core administration solutions, and design and derive transformative approaches for health plan systems and processes.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • As a trusted advisor, provide expertise in health plan core functions and administrative platforms to internal teams and clients
  • Participate in engagement objectives and scope setting meetings; ask deliberate questions and define what success looks like with a set of metrics with clients
  • Partner with business areas to identify impacts, define requirements, design new processes, and implement changes needed for future activities
  • Define the required team composition, and secure internal resources to deliver engagements
  • Assume accountability for on-time delivery of contracted activities and deliverables
  • Manage delivery, work plans, and activities for a complex engagement across multiple work streams
  • Lead teams to assess, design, and implement solutions to achieve client's strategic objectives and business issues
  • Identify opportunities for client account growth and perform a leadership role in conjunction with the sales leaders to close add-on business
  • Define, develop and document business requirements to ensure clients' needs are captured and delivered
  • Develop financial models and tools, including cost-benefit analysis, resource utilization models and performance reports
  • Produce job aids, training material and instruction manuals for end-users

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (economics, finance, and science degrees preferred)
  • Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience within the health care industry specifically focused on health insurance core administration functions and platforms
  • Understanding of the health care industry, including market landscape, regulatory environment, and emerging trends (strong preference given to Payer experience)
  • Demonstrated understanding of the health insurance business (Commercial, Health Care Exchanges, Medicare, Medicaid, Federal Employee Program)
  • Expertise in three or more of the following functional areas: membership and enrollment, billing, products and benefits, provider services, provider networks, provider reimbursement methodologies, authorizations, utilization management, care management, customer service, claims and claim payments
  • Experience in one or more of the following types of projects within health plans: operational readiness assessment, operational/IT solution design, system evaluation and selection, application rationalization, core administration platform implementation, membership migration
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in the fast-paced environment; proven critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills on business and technical constructs
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to travel up to 80% (when pandemic allows)


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with delivering large business transformation and technology programs with experience in setting up high performing teams, and selling client projects
  • SDLC management experience in waterfall, agile, and/or scaled agile
  • Experience in a large matrix environment
  • Advanced degree in business, technology, or health care related field from a top tier program
  • Management consulting experience in a health care related field
  • Experience working on provider data migration initiatives
  • Experience configuring benefits, providers, contracts, and/or other health plan functions
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high performing team
  • Record of consistent career progression with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Proactive and open to learning new technologies
