We are seeking a reliable and upbeat Bi-Lingual Medical Assistant in our Rosewood Clinic. It's a busy and quite fast paced clinic that requires a high degree of flexibility, patient oriented customer service and team collaboration in order to run smoothly.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work in a fast paced medical clinic taking care of patients and assisting the physicians and nursing personnel with injections, EKGs, Phlebotomy and other patient care procedures as requested.
  • Maintain all WellMed / Optum established quality control standards
  • Record in charts and computer --process patient care documentation quickly and accurately
  • Coordinate patient care as directed by physicians, company standards and policies
  • Organize, stock and clean exam and treatment rooms and sterilize instruments
  • Maintains quality control standards and required Medical Assistant and CPR certifications
  • Perform patient related intake tasks such as vitals, blood pressure, weight, phlebotomy and injections etc.

The pace is fast and you'll need to be comfortable managing multiple priorities. You may be required to work in multiple locations, so scheduling flexibility is essential. You must also be able to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 6+ months of work experience as a Medical Assistant (hospital, clinic, doctor's office or related internships)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Must be able to give injections, draw blood, run patient vitals and other clinical tasks as requested by Nurses or Providers
  • Must be able to work in the Rosewood Clinic in Austin
  • Must be fluent in Spanish and English, able to read, speak and write
  • Should have a Current, nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification or registration or the ability to obtain the designation within 180 days of employment
  • Should have a Current CPR and / or BLS certification or the ability to attain the certification within 30 days of employment
  • This position requires Tuberculosis screening as well as proof of immunity to Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis through lab confirmation of immunity, documented evidence of vaccination, or a doctor's diagnosis of disease

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ year or more desired experience as a Medical Assistant or related experience in a medical setting
  • ICD - 9 / 10 and CPT coding experience
  • Microsoft experience
  • Higher level education (Associates or some college)
