The Optum Enterprise Epic Services analysts will work out of our new Nashville, TN office to establish and grow our emerging support service line. Analysts will serve as a liaison between end-users, project team members and other Information Management resources while providing exemplary customer service and Epic application support in their assigned Epic module(s). OEES team members will help position Optum as a center of excellence for application management services.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead all phases (e.g. design, build and testing) of small to medium size application projects including Epic software upgrades, adoption of new Epic functionality and/or significant enhancements to integrated workflows
  • Provide Epic product function expertise for the design, build, and testing for assigned EpicCare Inpatient module(s)
  • Collaborate with end users to design, scope and build Epic enhancements and configure system build to resolve incidents in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Provide technical and or clinical consultation including application configuration. Review, analyze, and evaluate system needs to develop recommendations for customers
  • Develop, support and maintain workflow documentation, test scripts and configuration guides for core pieces of application functionality
  • Perform daily monitoring of applications in production use; including 24/7 on call coverage as required
  • Work with trainers to develop and maintain application specific training curriculum and materials
  • Develop strong relationships with operational stakeholders, customers and business partners

Required Qualifications:
  • Degree required eg Associate, Bachelor, or Master
  • 3+ years of Epic Build Experience designing physician, nursing and ancillary workflows
  • Current / active Epic certification in one of the following: EpicCare ClinDoc, EpicCare ASAP, EpicCare Ambulatory, EpicCare Procedure Orders + Order Transmittal. Experience designing physician, nursing and ancillary workflows
  • Completed Epic CEE (Continued Epic Education) to maintain certifications, proficiencies, and badges
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint
  • Reside in Nashville, TN or willing to relocate to Nashville

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to demonstrate and have a history of team management (informal or formal), cross-team communication and leadership skills
  • OpTime, Radiant experience and certifications are preferred in addition to Inpatient
  • Current certification in EpicCare Inpatient Clinical Documentation and Case Management and/or Stork

  • In-depth knowledge of Epic EMR and the full implementation lifecycle of Epic's suite of EMR applications
