A Community Outreach Specialist is a community based role aimed at forging community relationships, brand awareness and promoting the UnitedHealthcare Community Plan. The purpose of this position is to develop relationships in the community to increase and open the door to opportunities for qualified, local sales agents for UnitedHealthcare Dual Complete. The specialist must be licensed to be able to discuss benefits and train in the community as well as make member presentations. Other responsibilities will include supporting marketing communications projects as assigned.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with Community Based Organizations (CBO) as well as key Providers and Specialists serve the dual eligible populationSupport the Sales / Marketing team in assigned territory, collaborating with agents and agent managers to understand their needs
  • Coordinate compliant formal and informal events in a niche market to open the door for brand awareness, member and community education and facilitate the opportunities for qualified, local sales agents
  • Execute, plan and coordinate resources (i.e., Vendors, Partners, Sales Agent, etc.) to ensure a successful event
  • Identify opportunity and develop a Marketing strategy, in a diverse multi-cultural Senior citizen population, which is supportive to the Sales Agent's networking (territory)
  • Share our mission to help people live healthier lives, throughout the communities we service
  • Track all activities, events, leads and lead progress, sales, appointments, contacts and relationship progress daily through internal systems

This position will support the Austin, TX and surrounding territory.

Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of Marketing, Sales Marketing, or Community Relations experience
  • 2+ years of Healthcare experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a deadline driven environment
  • 2+ years of experience managing and prioritizing several deliverables
  • 2+ years of proven experience influencing and collaborating with others
  • 1+ years of experience presenting to small and / or large and small groups in professional or working environment
  • Currently possess a State of Texas Life & Health Producer License
  • Access to reliable transportation that will enable you to travel to client and / or partner sites within a designated area for both planned and unplanned visits
  • Ability to travel within territory and work evenings & weekends, when required
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time (events) mainly same day trips


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of CMS (Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services) Marketing rules and regulations
  • Strong verbal, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Bachelor's degree
