Description

The Business Process Analyst will report to the Associate Director, Care & Value Operations, and will primarily support the Care Management leadership team in the Florida Region (both Optum FL and WellMed FL). The position is responsible for developing project plans and timelines, along with monitoring organizational performance to plan. The position will identify factors to determine organizational effectiveness and recommend areas of improvement and enhancement.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Director, Data Analytics to identify and analyze trends to increase the productivity of the care management teams, to drive positive performance on organizational key performance metrics, and to improve the customer experience.


  • Streamline supporting materials for monthly leadership meetings.


  • Work with the Project Manager of Care & Value to deliver high value reporting for the Care Management Team. Serve as key business contact for outside vendor support.


  • Identify opportunities for improved scalability of the organization, including opportunities for increased productivity and reduced costs (e.g. streamlined processes, new roles, workload shift).


  • Communicates and provides reports to key stakeholders to ensure projects are aligned with the goals, objectives, and KPIs of the business.


  • Uses pertinent data and facts to identify and solve a range of problems within area of expertise.


  • Work in conjunction with training team to develop and implement related offerings.


  • Create and manage SharePoint sites to support key medical group initiatives as well as audit. Compile, analyze, and interpret data to create reports for Steering Committees.


  • Coordinates meetings with key stakeholders to ensure project initiative milestones are achieved; prepares draft agendas for review with Care Management Operations or delegate; issues agendas with appropriate backup materials; takes minutes and provides follow-up correspondence.


  • Supports the integration efforts of the Care Management team across Optum/WellMed FL, which includes systems, reporting, and operational workflow reviews.


  • Involvement in other strategic initiatives as defined by the VP, Care Management and VP, Care & Value Operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Four year bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business healthcare management, or related field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in healthcare, care management, project coordination, or related field.
  • Proficiency in MS Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint. Working knowledge of Tableau Reader and Smartsheets (creation and maintenance).
  • Strong communication skills across the organization and to leaders.
  • Ability to travel to the local corporate office for occasional onsite meetings and/or training.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with a Value Based Care organization
  • Experience in programs or projects, including planning, developing, implementing and evaluating programs and projects, coordinating project activities, collaborating with project team
  • Knowledge of Tableau and/or Power BI
  • Intermediate Excel (Pivot Table and VLookups)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, high energy, and enthusiasm, with ability to thrive in a collaborative, high performance, and action-oriented team environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects with tight deadlines while paying close attention to the details of all the deliverables
