In this key role, the Associate Director of Growth Analytics will be responsible for supporting the growth of the Home and Community business unit focused on Full Population Management by assessing, underwriting, and analyzing all new client and expansion opportunities with existing clients. Evaluating the market landscape to identify new partnership opportunities, supporting sales, marketing reporting, assisting in the creation of analyses needed for sales pitches and other client interactions, and financial/underwriting modeling opportunities
Fostering the data analysis process through the organization from initial data acquisition to final analysis, including building the presentation to be shared with the target prospect
Coordinating within broader Optum to facilitate deals through the sales and contracting process
This is a critical role within the organization with the opportunity to gain visibility into multiple aspects of the business and contribute to overall company growth

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Scan market landscape to identify new partnership opportunities
  • Develop client-facing collateral to support the sales cycle
  • Assist in negotiations of assigned prospective partners, especially coordinating with internal departments to finalize contracts, complete reporting, and fulfill customer operations obligations
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitors, relevant regulatory environment, and local market dynamics
  • Become an expert in all Home and Community business unit technologies and solutions, and use this knowledge to inform business development efforts
  • Develop long-term relationships with prospects and clients built on credibility, trust
  • and deep understanding of health plans' strategic priorities and focus areas
  • Support all aspects of growth for our health plan line of business, including:
  • Driving solution-specific sales strategy: sales process, pipeline management, customer segmentation, pricing, contracting, and execution
  • Understanding Home and Community's dynamic marketplace and evolving, innovative portfolio of solutions
  • Coordinating and supporting sales meetings with prospects
  • Coordinating technology demonstrations and clinical model reviews with prospects
  • Helping Sales teams execute complex, enterprise solution sales
  • Collaborate with various departments within Home and Community to execute deals and drive growth, including Sales, Analytics, Clinical, Operations, Legal, etc.
  • Support Growth team by developing of PowerPoint presentations, sales materials, and Excel models to support sales efforts

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of management consulting, healthcare management, health plan or provider experience including 2+ years of health care economics and general understanding of business development
  • Understanding of health plan business operations and contracting structure
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Proven track record of cross-functional leadership, with a demonstrated ability to influence others and drive cross-functional results
  • Demonstrated comfort with ambiguity and shifting across priorities as business needs evolve
  • Proven exceptional at developing professional communications for executive leadership (documents and presentations)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA / Advanced Degree
  • Experience in provider contracting or value-based payer-provider arrangements

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $101,200 to $184,000. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
