This fast paced, constantly evolving role offers you the opportunity to manage 8-10 Transportation Planners with the key focus on continuous improvement, agility, and business acumen to drive the business forward.
This role moves quickly within a challenging environment to support the business and its on time goals. This cross-functional position conducts flawless execution of network flow and strategy This role will require commitment, on-going business engagement and breakthrough thinking will be required to evaluate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in an effort to identify distribution solutions that align Unilever and partner. Who You Are & What You'll Do
You're a born leader: You will develop, coach and lead 8-10 Planners in implementing the cross-functional, fully-integrated processes that enables successful network to unlock value. This involves collaborating with carriers, distribution centers as well as other supply chain teams. You hear messages from the business and galvanize your team by translating business goals into strategic initiatives to achieve the ambitions across Unilever, Customers and Carriers. You have a passion for experimenting and record of encouraging others to do the same.
You're a dot connector: You will be responsible for supporting and creating strong relationships with internal and external partners to enable your team to be successful in gathering and analyzing the data to drive continuous improvements for KPIs across the organization; such as on-time pick-up, delivery and cost reduction. Through leveraging your business acumen, you can find patterns and anticipate challenges to put robust mitigation plans in place. Your collaboration and strength of relationships will support your team to better determine root cause, develop and implement solutions and monitor to ensure success.
You're a storyteller: You can hold straight, honest, and motivating discussions to drive development across your team and with stakeholders. You can go beyond presented information to see relationships across issues to simplify business needs into required action. You will be required to develop a continuous improvement culture and improve ways of working such that you and your team has open and strategic communication with many areas of the business, as well as our carrier base; in relation to carrier capacity, seasonal inventory, volume spikes, and opportunities for synergy and growth. Strong communication and clear articulation of the reasons to believe will ensure delivery of your strategic vision to stakeholders.
You're a paradox navigator: You will identify critical issues and escalate appropriately, assemble opportunities and engage appropriate decision makers to continuously resolve and drive excellence across teams; both internally and externally. You will utilize your highly analytical skills using MS-Excel, SAP and Power BI to balance cross-functional needs and drive the best business outcome in decision making.
You love to win and have fun doing it: You motivate and empower your team to provide exceptional service at competitive costs to support the overall strategic direction of Customers and the overall business. This position requires the ability to develop and coach Specialists to make educated decisions regarding how to maximize opportunities for success in a highly dynamic and complex environment.
