Background & Purpose of the Job

Personal Care plays a strategic role in the North America strategy and. The purpose of this job is to lead the Manufacturing Technology Programme in HPCL North America through product technology engineering design and implementation of innovation, savings, capacity and capability projects across the HPCL factories (Jefferson City, Jonesboro and Raeford) and support to 3PM manufacturing serving as the category technology lead that bring and stimulate creative, sharp and affordable solutions to business problems and needs in process. Reports to an Engineering Director.

Who You Are & What You'll Do

You're a born leader: You provide strategic technical leadership to drive change, sustain and improve performance and customer service at manufacturing. You provide overall SC leadership for technical evaluations, risk assessments, factory trials, assessment and validation of new raw material suppliers, assessment and validation for in-house and 3PM capabilities. You have strong passion for Engineering Excellence and people development to drive team's performance. You strategically influence peers and stakeholders to drive the business agenda through technical solutions.

You're a dot connector: You are the technology bridge between Supply Chain and R&D, working with Engineering, Manufacturing, Innovation Quality, Supply Chain Planning, Procurement and other functions, representing technical excellence and understanding of the category technology. You perform successfully in a multi-functional/ discipline high performance team environment.

You're a change maker: You flawlessly executes innovation, savings, capacity and capability projects leading all engineering aspects of the working programme working with R&D, Brand and SC in an integrated, high performance work team.

You're a culture and change champion: You provide and stimulate creative solutions to process problems, rapid transfer of best practices, technology and innovative ideas across sites and you drive technology development and capital efficiency embracing outside-in mentality and willingness to experiment and collaborate. You help unlock value and execution with the team by leveraging the Be Resourceful model for Engineering.

You love to win, and have fun doing it: You are recognized by the Engineering community and SC as the technical category expert in process. You have strong technical expertise in process and total systems approach in all work efforts (from raw and packing materials to process and connection to packing lines to final product). You define and execute process capability, identify breakthrough opportunities for capital efficiency, fast implementation of innovation and savings and performance improvement in manufacturing and promotes value added harmonization within the HPCL technology platform across factories. You have the ability to balance a variety of priorities while maintaining healthy relationships across the engineering team, key stakeholders and customers.

What You'll Need to Succeed


  • B.S. or B.E. degree in Chemical/ Food Engineering or Chemistry or related degree with working experience in process engineering.
  • 10+ years' experience in related Engineering or Manufacturing environment.
  • Fast Moving Consumer Goods experience strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a people or project management role.

  • Firsthand experience/ track record of delivering and managing projects within Unilever or similar Fast Moving Consumer Goods environment
  • Previous experience in Personal Care Liquid processing operations
