Background & Purpose of the Job
Unilever Logistics Procurement Transportation is embedded within the Supply Chain in a variety of places from inbound freight delivering to our manufacturing sites to the delivery of finished goods to our customers. Unilever t ransportation spend is approximately $0.5B across more than 40 suppliers in the US and Canada in several modes of transportation including bulk, parcel, LTL, TL, and IMDL.
The current open role will have a focus on creating value to Unilever via a Total Cost of Owner sh ip model whilst aligning to and influencing supply chain strategies. Role will need to conduct collaborative sourcing initiatives with several internal stakeholders . Will be responsible for NA supplier relationships including but not limited to addressing commercial and operational endeavors. Lead/Support in designing strategies for network footprint changes, new brand acquisitions and breakthrough digital supply chain innovations to deliver sustainable results. Areas of exploration include but are not limited to growing strategic relationships, expanding IMDL, Digital Freight Matching and Dedicated Fleets, exploring new technologies such as autonomous and electric vehicles and other logistics innovations.
Further, this job p rovides the employee exposure to the US Economy as sourcing strategies take into consideration the entire transportation market which is nearly $1.5T in spend representing about 8% of the US GDP.
Who You Are & What You'll Do
What You'll Need To Succeed
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- 3+ years of experience working in an analytical capacity
- 2+ years of experience working with cross functional teams
- Ability to perform data analysis using MS Excel, PowerBii and/or SQL
- MBA, MS or MA (Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Mathematics Data Science or relevant field)
- 3+ years of transportation and supply chain experience
- 2+ years of experience negotiating transportation or other service contracts
- Experience supporting creating, defining, implementing and executing procurement strategies
- Experience working with business process systems and bid/sourcing management software
5+ years of advanced Microsoft Excel skills
