The Global MDM Programme delivers a single Global process and toolset for the Core and Reporting Master Data. The primary Core Masters Data are Vendors, Customers, Materials/Finished products and some other ECC Master data. The Reporting MD is mostly linked with Connect Programme, other Reporting environments and also Hierarchy and Financial objects.

This role will be responsible for Landscape management support for both Core Masters and Reporting Masters. Therefore, s/he will be working very closely with both Core Masters Solution Delivery Lead and Reporting Masters Solution Delivery Lead, while formally reporting to Core Masters Solution Delivery Lead.

Landscape manager is a crucial role in any application landscape. Having a strong landscape management ensures

  • Predictive service health (moving from reactive to proactive maintenance)
  • Aim for zero unplanned downtime
  • Enable better platform service through resilience

Landscape Manager sits in-between the Innovation and Operations & Support teams. While Innovation designs and builds processes and tools for the business, Operations provides the BAU functionalities and daily business support. Meanwhile Landscape Manager primarily does the following:

  • Core landscape activities
  • Review/consult with functional innovation on new service/changes to ensure existing service is not disrupted
  • Provide SME/L3 support for smooth operations of BAU & overall service health assurance
  • Plan for upgrades and implementation with the Solution Delivery Team (KEC)
  • Plan and budget for Max-attention needs from Software vendor like SAP (KEC)
  • Purpose of the Job
  • Landscape Manager is responsible from core Landscape activities. Primary objective is to move from Reactive to Proactive maintenance through Predictive service health activities. S/he ensures better platform services and resilience and should target for zero unplanned downtime.
  • - Landscape manager should work very closely with the GMDM Solution Delivery Managers and Operations Managers to ensure smooth new service/changes to without business disruption..

Accountabilities and responsibilities

  • Provide SME/L3 support for smooth operations of BAU & overall service health assurance
  • Is Responsible from the well-being of the IT landscape.
  • Ensure that all production systems’ performance, security, stability, reliability, and resilience is maintained and continuously improved.
  • As the gate keeper of the landscape, make sure that all applications developed on the landscape comply with the performance and reliability standards.
  • Understand the project demand and, build & maintain Release plans which take dependencies, priorities and synergies in to account.
  • Make, fit for purpose systems & environments available to projects and support teams to develop & test new functionalities and bug fixing.
  • Maintain Regression testing Library and execute regression tests to ensure live service integrity is not compromised by the new projects & changes.
  • Plan, budget and execute KEC projects.
  • Proactively manage and continuously improve Landscape KPIs , for delivering reliable service to the business
  • Implement and execute baseline security standards and manage access control and privileged access.
  • Seek and drive opportunities to reduce Landscape TCO.
  • Continuous Improvement of the landscape in their respective area. (Review program run times, long running jobs, data growth, recurring incidents, etc.)
  • Review and Quality Assure; Effort estimates, Functional Specifications and designs, and finally the build of critical programs.
  • Act as Extended team of Global SMEs. Involve in Global design sessions of big bets to ensure that Landscape specific constraints & specialties are taken in to account and once the design is signed off, make sure that the delivery teams deliver the functionality on the landscape in line with the design.
  • For Landscape spesific projects; Landscape SMEs will Review and Quality Assure Effort estimates, Functional Specifications and designs, and finally the build of critical programs.
  • For Global Projects; Landscape SMEs will input Landscape specific constraints and requirements to the global design process. After the design is signed off, they will hold AD partner accountable for accurately (from tecno functional perspective) building the designed functionality in to the landscape.
  • Landscape SMEs can take up project management of the “landing of a global project in to the landscape” for their area of specialty, for developing their project management skills and preparing them for future roles.

Experience and Qualification Required

  • Strong knowledge and experience on the Landscape Management
  • Strong knowledge and experience on performance management and optimisation
  • Strong knowledge and experience on resilience and proactive bottleneck analysis
  • Computer Engineering or Computer Science graduation
  • Highly analytical power
  • Preferably experience in both Basis/Hardware level and application development previous jobs in CV (at least one should be hands-on experience not only management)
  • Previous management role in IT
  • Knowledgeable with management of the components of the solutions inc; hardware, OS, network layers to database and to application layer
  • Knowledgeable on application layer linking
  • Strong Experience in either Core ECC masters or Reporting masters (preferably both)
  • Since the candidate might lack one of the Core ECC or Reporting masters, s/he should be able to learn and manage the less-experienced domain for him/her
  • Experienced in one or a few of the following; ECC, Java, SAP BPM, SAP BODS (or any equivalent ETL), SAP IS, Hierarchies management like Kalido, Reporting tools like Terradata or SAP BW
  • Performance testing (working jointly with Project team)
  • Go-to performance person in the Global MDM (even by Innovation teams)
  • Both insource and 3rd party management experience
  • May require to manage an internal resource which will be decided later
  • Very good coordination skills across multiple groups of people with different knowledge and skill level (s/he should be filling any holes/gaps across project and operations teams
  • Very Good at peer management
  • Good at communication
  • Very confident and fast learner with new technologies
