Background & Purpose of the Job

The Logistics Planning Team is responsible for developing analytic s, forecasting tools, and validating business cases to manage the flow of finished goods through the Unilever North America distribution network. Covering all Divisions between Foods, Refreshments, Home and Personal Care, the team serves as the central coordination point for the intake of the signal from the Sales & Operational Planning process and translating the volumes into expected capacity needs for Transportation and Warehou se operational teams . Activities include coordinating network footprint changes focusing on logistics cost and protecting customer KPI's, projecting out network capacity constraints , developing analytical tools for to predict the profiles for acquired brands, identifying cost savings opportunities with the Planning teams for efficient deployment methods, and completing cost estimates for innovations .

Who You Are & What You'll Do

As a Logistics Planning Analyst, you will be a business partner to a Category and/or distribution network and be responsible for providing forecasted capacity requirements to the operational team members in Warehousing and Transportation. You will serve as a key link between Supply Planning and Logistics, translating the constrained output from the Sales & Operations Planning process into expected volumes in transportation lanes and warehouse pallet and location capacity and case/layer/pallet. You will be held to the delivery of cost savings projects already in flight , accuracy of immediate (1-30 days), short (1-3 months), and medium (3-12 months) term forecasting for your assigned Category and/or network , and emerging project work. You will develop and implement forecasting and analytical tools to deploy minimum viable products and create new statistical models to improve the accuracy of your forecasts. The Transportation and Warehouse operations teams will turn your forecasted volumes into operational requirements for their 3rd Party Logistics partners and the Procurement teams will also utilize them in contract negotiation. You will partner with the Logistics Development team for Warehouse, Transportation, and Network Design projects, validating their forecasted volumes, rate assumptions, and footprinted flows in order to assume accurate savings numbers. You will interact daily with s enior Managers in Planning, Logistics, and Customer Service to make changes in support of the optimal network . You will use your experience across multiple functions to connect across the full Supply Chain, always in search of opportunities to create efficiency in the distribution flows.

  • You're a dot connector: You will be a strong link to connecting our 3P L s to our key support functions (Customer Service, Logistics, Warehousing, and P lanning) to ensure the all functions are aligned on footprint changes. You will be responsible for projecting out network capacity concerns, developing analytical tools for new acquisitions and finding continuous improvement opportunities with the Planning teams

    What You'll Need To Succeed

    A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in required for consideration , preferably in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business Analytics. It is preferred that you have at least 4 years of experience in Logistics or Planning in a Consumer Packaged Goods environment . You will need to be a results-oriented, innovative thinker with a focus on continuous improvement. Strong analytical aptitude with a validated ability to extract, analyze & interpret data and present findings to senior leaders . Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary to effectively interact with all levels of management. You will work in a fast-paced business environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability by managing numerous priorities concurrently; organizational and time-management abilities are a must. Finally, you will need advanced technical skills with Microsoft Excel, Access, and PowerBi . SAP APO and ECC experience are required , in addition to SQL and other coding languages. E xperience working with enterprise level logistics systems, such as a Transportation Management System, Yard Management Systems, or Warehouse Management System is required . Oracle TMS, JDA WMS, and PINC YMS experience are preferred.
