Hammond HR Specialist
Provides support to HRBPs in :
Deliver HR support to the business and ensure that HR delivery is fully aligned to business goals in their area of business.
Building and enhancing capabilities of employees.
Overall HR service delivery.
Performs and manages HR Ops for Hammond Factory hourly teams.
Supports the development and implementation of HR solutions by understanding how the organization works.
Interfaces with HR service provider and HRBPs in in North America to ensure delivery of core HR services to the business.
Monitors quality and timeliness of service provision.
Supports the delivery of, and the compliance with, Unilever HR policies, processes and local employment/labor legislation for all employees.
Supports the HRBP team or Expertise teams in preparing & providing accurate information, collating & analyzing data and producing clear, insightful and meaningful reports.
Locally manages the Company’s benefit plans, in conjunction with Unilever third party service providers and corporate functions, including health care, tuition reimbursement, service awards, Thrift and Savings, and pensions etc.
Effectively and accurately communicate information to employees with respect to all aspects of the Company’s benefit plan.
Conducts the general Company orientation of new plant employees; counsel employees, when requested; and promote good employee relations.
Assist in implementation of approved Human Resource programs affecting plant personnel and to assist in the performance of other Human Resources functions, as required.
Conduct and participate in local wage and salary surveys using internal Unilever compensation team and network wit external local companies regarding employee relations and labor relations best practice union agreements, wages, salaries and Human Resources policies.
Conduct ethics investigations in alignment with legal.
Support Line managers in the recruitment of hourly team members.
Provide payroll backup and upload of weekly pay for hourly employees.
Follow-up with HR services for employee issues with data, benefits etc.
Maintain HR administrative files , and records.
Lead site Recreation committee.
Administer HRLT initiatives.
Support managers in initial hourly disciplinary proceedings for hourly teams.
Train employees on HR policies, systems and tools.
Deliver HR culture change initiatives to local population.
Provide facilitation of HR initiatives to other factory teams in North America as needed.
Manages site people moves.
Process in a complex environment as this requires knowledge in local legislation, rules and people issues, working across many different people for different shifts. Needs to monitors quality and timeliness of service provision to prevent escalations.
Basic understanding of management trade unions, key legal, compliance, safety and other regulatory issues involved in key HR processes – knows key issues to look out for and when to get expertise teams involved.
Supports the delivery of, and the compliance with, Unilever HR policies, processes and local employment/labour legislation for all employees.
Supports the development and implementation of HR solutions by understanding how the organisation works – complex organisation in SC globally and cluster, especially Asia and SEAA.
Knowledge and management of HR Information Systems to provide insight and ensure data reliability.
Central data controller and working with Procurement HR.
Supports the HRBP team or Expertise teams in preparing & providing accurate information, collating & analysing data and producing clear, insightful and meaningful reports.
Supports managers and the HRBP team in all Organisation Design activity.
Processes and system changes.
Work directly with Line Managers, advising on HR issues and ensuring the effective execution of change.
The role requires a lot of exposure to factory LT & SCLT, and thus provide both stretching and learning opportunities.
Drive Capability Building Activities for Supply Chain employees.
Engagement for business.
A high level of judgment is used in making decisions in this position. This includes the weighing of facts, interpretation of data and diversified duties. The incumbent in this position has an impact on the employees and their dependents. Serious loss or damage could result as a consequence of not fulfilling the responsibilities of this position.
Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or related field
At least 1-2 years of experience in HR preferred
Relevant experience in HR systems and processes
Project management skills
Good knowledge of key HR processes, roles and responsibilities across the entire HR life cycle.
Relevant experience in ER/IR systems and process in a complex environment is a benefit.
